Executive Director of First Generation Student Success

Shaun Mooney serves as the Executive Director for First Generation Student Success at James Madison University.  In this role, Shaun also provides leadership and support for Centennial Scholars, Valley Scholars and the Reddix Center for First Generation Students.  Shaun has over 20 years of experience supporting access to higher education for students from diverse backgrounds.  In addition, he teaches United States history at the university and also serves on the board for Project Grows, a community based agricultural non-profit in the Staunton, Augusta, Waynesboro communities.
